Description

Incredibly hard to find, early period SS-VT (SS-Verfügungstruppe) collar tab set for an enlisted man with the rank of SS-Hauptscharfuhrer. These tabs show clear signs of being worn and removed for a uniform, the rune tab shows shadowing of a regimental number “2” indicating service in Germania. Early SS collar tabs had numbers to indicate which of the SS-VT regiments the soldier belonged to SS2 stood for Germania. Per 1939 regulations these numbers were required to be removed from the collar tabs. Overall this set is very rare, in amazing condition, and textbook in every way possible!

Note – SS-Verfügungstruppe (SS-VT, lit.SS Dispositional Troops) was formed in 1934 as combat troops for the Nazi Party (NSDAP). On 17 August 1938 Adolf Hitler decreed that the SS-VT was neither a part of the Police, nor the Wehrmacht, but military-trained men at the disposal of the Führer. In time of war, the SS-VT were to be placed at the disposal of the army. These men would be the starting nucleus of what would be the Waffen-SS.
