Description
Great M1937 2nd Model Luftwaffe Dagger (Fliegerdolch) by (WKC, of Solingen). The blade on this one is near mint with some near perfect cross graining remaining. The etched WKC Knight logo remains clear and dark, the blade has a perfect tip and solid fit to the fittings and grip with no signs of being sharpened, the blade is set backward in the fittings, in my opinion this was more than likely done after it was dismantled and engraved with the initials. The scabbard has no dents or dings and great uncleaned patina. The burnished eagle crossguard has nice detail to the eagles head, feathers, wings and top side embossed oak leaves and acorns, the reverse has been period engraved with the initials H.V in an artistic pattern. The trylon orange grip is tight and secure with the original portpee attached , the springy aluminum wire wrap remains tightly intact. Great example of one of the earlier examples of the 2nd pattern Luft daggers with an added feature of a period engraved crossguard!
