Description
Amazing and rare example of the 50 Panzer Assault Badge in Silver (Panzerkampfabzeichen mit Einsatzzahl 50) by Josef Feix Söhne of Gablonz (unmarked). Produced with a two-piece construction produced in zinc, the zinc wreath was copper coated which has allowed the silver finish to remain strong! The reverse shows textbook hardware with crimped in hinge and catch, this hardware has zero damage or repairs. Though this badge is unmarked, it is a textbook example produced by JFS. This badge is in phenomenal condition, not only is it rare, it would be next to impossible to find one in better condition, rare piece here!
Note – As the war progressed, it became apparent that a single Panzer badge was no longer adequate to recognize the growing number of seasoned veterans who fought in armored vehicles. Therefore, in June 1943, additional classes of the award were introduced for 25, 50, 75, and 100 Panzer engagements.
