Description
In Stellar, combat worn Heer (Army) Infantry NCO Shoulderboard for a member of the 696th Grenadier Regiment. The strap shows small blood stains and great tone from being worn in the field. It was crudely cut off the uniform. Great piece of field removed insignia!
Note – The 696th was part of the 340th Volks-Grenadier Division. The division fought in the Battle of the Bulge, as part of the SS-Panzer Corps, it then retreated into Germany as part of XIII SS Corps before finally being destroyed in the Ruhr pocket in April 1945.
