Description
Very nice, early m36 shoulderboard as worn by a Heer (Army) enlisted man in the Wehrersatzdienststelle (Recruiting Offices.) dark green base with white color piping, the board has an embroidered “W” as well as the Roman numerals underneath for region 6. Great piece of early insignia typically missing from most collections.
Note – With the reintroduction of conscription in 1935, the Oberkommando der Wehrmacht, (High Command of the Armed Forces), activated the Wehrersatzdienststelle, (Recruiting Offices), throughout Germany to process and administer the call up procedure. Personnel serving with the Wehrersatzdienststelle wore a distinctive designation on their shoulder straps/boards as identifying insignia.
