Description
Fantastic M36 style walking out blouse for an NCO with the rank of Feldwebel in Heer (Army) Cavalry Regiment 2 as indicated by the Roman numeral II in the shoulder boards. Made of high quality trikot wool and lined in light grey polished cotton, the integral provision for wear with sword have been removed. The blouse has two upper pleated patch pockets and two lower slash pockets as well as the popular green M36 style collar. All the insignia is originally sewn as are the 2 sets of loops for awards on the left side. The breast eagle is beautiful and clearly a custom made type, possibly foreign made. Another interesting factor is this uniform started it’s life as a piped parade tunic, as the war went on and the Waffenrocks were phased out, many men with extra money in their pockets would have their parade uniforms custom tailored into a walking out blouse. We can see clear signs of this with the different types of wool on the added French cuff’s and the inside button row where piping was removed and then restitched back up. These transnational uniforms are collectible in their own right!
