Description
Textbook, World War 2 period ‘slot-broach’ U.S. Army Purple Heart. Period ribbon is faded but solid overall, it has the original ribbon bar hanging from it as well. Great piece for a display!
Note – The U.S. Purple Heart in WWII honored American service members wounded or killed in action on or after December 7, 1941, with over 1 million awarded for combat injuries, though initially it included meritorious service before criteria shifted to wounds only; an estimated 1.5 million medals were produced.
