Description
Great “Dachau” Waffen-SS Totenkopf Collar Tab in unissued condition. The Dachau SS Totenkopf Collar Tab examples have been closely associated with the Dachau Concentration Camp. This is primarily due to the fact that many of these examples have been found in the veteran groupings of US GIs, especially the men of the 42nd and 45th Divisions. These soldiers liberated and occupied the town of Dachau, and its nearby concentration camp, at the end of the war. The inmates of the Dachau Concentration Camp were used to produce products for the SS prior to, and during, the Second World War. Some of the more notable products produced at Dachau was SS insignia, SS Swords, as well as Allach Porcelain. The tab is constructed of a white cotton embroidered SS Skull, on top of a black wool base. The wool is wrapped over a typical fine lattice style buckram backing with white reinforcement stitching, there is no damage or repairs to this tab, a very nice, textbook, unissued example of a “Dachau” Waffen-SS Totenkopf Collar Tab.
