Description

Early on before World War II broke out, Adolf Hitler signed his name on thousands of documents, postcards, autographs, books, etc. After the war started he seldom signed anything except for extremely important documents such as Knight’s Cross awards, high promotions, and personal letters to friends and colleagues. Hitler’s signatures on common documents were either auto penned, or printed along with the rest of the document. We often seen Hitler’s signature in blue print (looking like ink) while the rest of the document is printed in black print—these are often taken as being authentic signatures. While these documents are certainly authentic, the Führer did not sign these by his own hand. That is why to find an authentic signature of Hitler’s is seldom accomplished…

This example is a 1938 dated German post card that was mailed on April 10th, 1938. The reverse shows this acceptance stamped date, as well as a period stamp. The reverse shows a small spot in the middle missing paper, this would be due to more than likely being placed into a photo album of souvenir book, and later being removed (as we see often.) The front shows the Führer in his popular dress attire of his NSDAP tunic with belt and awards, the center of his chest shows the textbook signature of Adolf Hitler. This signature was done in black fountain pen and is perfect in every way. This post card measures 6 x 4 ¼ inches which is perfect to have it professionally framed and displayed if one would want to go this route. I have had quite a few original autographs I have found over the years, typically on photographs, documents, and other large images they are rough and just do not display or stand out well, this is hands down one of the nicest examples I have ever owned, visually, and overall quality. A very rare and sought after piece missing from some of the best collection displays out there!
