Very uncommon and highly sought after Tank Destruction Badge in the grade of Silver (Sonderabzeichen für das Niederkämpfen von Panzerkampfwagen durch Einzelkämpfer) or also called ‘Panzervernichtungsabzeichen’. The award was instituted by Adolf Hitler on March 9th, 1942 and was awarded to individuals of the Wehrmacht who single-handedly destroyed an enemy tank with a handheld-weapon like the Panzerfaust. Complete with all prongs remaining and original metal backing plate. This example is the more uncommon to find type with canvas backing, and textbook as they come. Stunning original example in period worn/uniform removed condition.
