Textbook Waffen-SS Officer’s Visor Cap ‘Schirmmütze’ by EREL. The body of this cap is made of a fine field gray tricot wool, which is completely intact, with no moth holes, staining or other visible damage. The officer piping is a fine white wool and shows only very slight age toning and patina. The black velvet band is in fine condition. The interior shows the correct SS issued yellow/gold silk lining with light service wear and light age patina. These are known as “Double Erel” visors as the sweatband and the interior crown both show this firms markings. There is no damage or repairs to this truly amazing example of an Waffen-SS Officer’s visor. If you are looking for an untouched example which hardly ever pop up, this is about as good as it gets!
