Exceptionally scarce original SS-Totenkopf cufftitle produced in the high-quality hand-embroidered silver-aluminium as worn by Officers. Totenkopf (skull) sits on a black woven band with silver-aluminium borders, this example is unissued, full length, and still has both RZM tags remaining. The skull shows light oxidation on the bullion, all in all this is a remarkable, textbook example of an extremely rare and sought after piece of SS insignia.
Note – SS-Standarte “Oberbayern” formed part of the SS-Totenkopfverbände system. These Death’s-Head formations initially provided personnel for the administration and guarding of the Nazi concentration-camp system. Subsequently, personnel from this organization contributed to the formation of the 3rd Waffen-SS Panzer Division “Totenkopf.”
