Seldom seen Luftwaffe Officer visor made by Erel. Highest quality example available, marked as ‘Privat’ (Private Purchase) but also refered to in the collector community as “double marked Erel” these are very early visors, the inside of the sweat band is dated with the manufacturing date of 1941. Both national insignia on the front are period applied and show matching patina. The celluloid diamond inside is marked as followed; Verkaufs-Abteilung der Luftwaffe, Berlin SW 68, Puttkamerstr. 16/18, Erel Berlin Sonderklasse, Privat. The sweatband itself is also Erel Stirnschutz marked, nice large size of roughly 58. Very attractive, worn Luftwaffe visor by a rare and desirable manufacturer, if it was not for the a few small moth nips on the top edge, this cap would not be able to be upgraded!
