Description

Wonderful example of a Model 1935 Heer (Army) Officer dagger produced by Carl Eickhorn, of Solingen. The blade on this one looks great. The acid etched squirrel “Original Eickhorn Solingen” maker mark is dark, crisp and beautifully executed. The crossgrain looks excellent as you turn it in the sun. The tip comes to a perfect point and the fit is nice and tight. The blade rates near mint with some light oil that could easily clean off. The original leather buffer pad remains intact. The steel based nickel-silver plated scabbard is gorgeous with wonderful age patina. It provides great detail with the random pebbling throughout and hand enhanced oak leaf and acorn bands. It remains completely dent free and the original throat retaining screw continues to remain intact. The generic crossguard is one that Eickhorn used occasionally, (as seen in Thomas Wittmans Army dagger reference book) provides crisp detail. The pommel and ferrule are also beautifully detailed with proud oak leaves and acorns. The deep orange trylon grip on this one is perfect with no damage at all. Completely matching patina throughout with a wonderful pair of delux dagger hangers still attached. A nice example.
