Description
Beautiful model 1935, 4th Pattern Heer (Army) dagger by Carl Eickhorn, Solingen. The blade on this one looks great, the acid etched “Original Eickhorn Solingen” maker mark is dark, crisp and beautifully executed. The crossgrain is gorgeous, running the full length of the blade, and is easily visible as you shine it in the light. The fit is perfect as is the tip. The blade overall condition is fantastic with no major spotting or grey spots throughout. The original brown leather buffer pad remains intact. The steel based, nickel-silver plated scabbard provides wonderful detail with the random pebbling throughout and oak leaf and acorn bands. It remains completely dent free and the original throat retaining screw continues to remain intact. The zinc-alloy based nickel-silver plated Eickhorn (Paul Casberg-designed) crossguard provides beautiful crisp detail. The pommel and ferrule are also beautifully detailed with proud oak leaves and acorns. The white cream colored trylon based grip on this one is looks excellent and still has the original Officer portepee knot. The silver has gorgeous patina and burnishing throughout. Textbook construction and overall just a fantastic Army dagger.
