Description
Great example of a Luftwaffe Paratrooper badge ‘Fallschirmschützenabzeichen’ by F.W. Assmann & Sohne, Lüdenscheid. This badge has a two-piece construction featuring a die cast tombak based and gold gilded eagle with a die cast zinc based blackened wreath. The oval shaped obverse depicts a diving Luftwaffe eagle, clutching a swastika within its talons, and is above by a blackened half laurel leaf and berry, half oak leaf and acorn wreath. The reverse displays the “1” number mark to the wreath and the correct flattened rivets, integral catch and the integral hinge with a steel round wire pin with no damage or repairs.
