Description
Luftwaffe Summer Flak EM’s Visor Cap (Sommerschirmmütze). Visor caps were a standard item for all armed forces personnel during the Third Reich period. Although enlisted personnel were issued their caps from government supplies they were also permitted to purchase privately tailored caps. This is a privately purchased white-topped summer visor cap, complete with its removable white top having its original aluminum cap eagle and cocarde attached. The cap is complete with the often missing/removed original interior having a celluloid sweat diamond which is marked with a to me unknown company’s logo ‘Deutsche Wertarbeit’. The cap is roughly a size ’56’ with no markings on the leather sweatband. The cap is having the red ‘Truppenfarbe’ (branch-color) for personnel serving within the Flak/Artillerie. The cap is complete with its original blackened leather chinstrap as found, the strap has a cracked section at one buckle but is formed into place and secured still. The cap is in very good only slightly used condition showing some normal traces of usage and storage wear to the white section. Very hard to find original Luftwaffe white-topped summer visor cap in very good condition!
