This is an amazing example of the 1st variation “3.52” Kriegsmarine Minesweeper Badge as produced by Adolf Scholez. With textbook design and hardware, this badge marked on the reverse with the trademark logo ‘AS’ as indicated for Adolf Scholze. When it comes to zinc badges from the Third Reich period, typically we find them lacking little to all finish. This example holds nearly all of the remaining gold and silver finish! Compared to the example used on page 400 of ‘The Kriegsmarine Awards’ reference book by Sascha Webber, this example blows it out of the water. There are no damage or repairs, this badge is the definition of an investment grade piece!
