Description
Textbook and rather uncommon BeVo woven sleeve-shield as intended for a volunteer within the Heer (Army) ‘Ukrainisches Legion’ (Landeschilde). The shield shows the white Cyrillic letters ‘YBB’ indicating the Ukrainian Army of Liberation, the identifying sleeve shield insignia was introduced in 1943. The shield is executed in the neat so-called BeVo weave style on a field-grey linen background. Nice original BeVo Eastern volunteer insignia in mint and unissued condition!
Note – This 1st Pattern Ukrainian YBB Volunteer Sleeve Shield is the Bevo pattern, machine woven, and much more desirable/rare than the later printed versions.
