Description

Very sought after M36 shoulder board for a Heer (Army) Non Commissioned Officer in a Calvary Kradschützen regiment. Nice period worn example with dark green base with silver NCO tress and dark yellow piping as worn by Calvary units, the underneath is dark green as well. The board has an aluminum gothic ‘K’ device, two NCO rank pips and the number 2 for 2nd regiment. Nice, uniform removed piece to a very sought after unit.

Note – The Wehrmacht developed Kradschützen as a rapid mobile assault and reconnaissance force from 1936 and were used extensively during the early stages of the Second World War as part of the German Blitzkrieg successes, and Operation Barbarossa. The development of Kampfgruppen, Panzer Grenadier regiments, and armored halftracks meant that large formations of lightly armed Kradschutzen motorcycle troops became obsolete with the soldiers being transferred to other services such as Panzer Grenadier regiments and Kampfgruppen.
