Fantastic U.S Army D-Day Medal Grouping – Engraved Silver Star (Robert R. Wright Jr.) and Bronze Star (Robert R. Wright Jr.) The rest of the group consists of ; European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign Medal American Campaign Medal, Army of Occupation Medal with GERMANY Bar, World War II Victory Medal, American Defense Medal, Armed Forces Reserve Medal, National Defense Service Medal, and the American Campaign Medal. Naming is officially Government Engraved on the Silver Star and Bronze Star. The group also has some spare ribbons, accompanied by a Combat Infantryman Badge “STERLING”, 4th Infantry Division Patch, there is also his Distinguished Unit Citation ribbon, and his Officer collar insignia. Footnote: (Captain Robert R. Wright Jr. O-0397060) at the time in the 4th Infantry Division, 12th Infantry Regiment, Company “E.” On June 6th, 1944 the 4th Infantry Division was part of the D-Day invasion on “Utah Beach” in Normandy, France. On September 2nd, 1945 Cpt. Wright was awarded the Silver Star for his actions that day during the invasion. After the war Cpt. Robert R. Wright Jr. would continue to serve in the U.S Army after World War 2, later retiring on January 8th, 1962 at the rank of Lieutenant Colonel.
