Description
These were sent to high raking officer’s and dignitaries’ funerals by The NAZI Party. They were attached to large wreaths at funerals and are rare as the materials they were made of were very easily ripped or creased. Made of red silk rayon with a separate sewn swastika on one side, and the NSKOV (National Socialist War Victim’s Care) emblem on the other end. The bottom is produced in a black high quality fringe at the bottom, the bottom also has an original note written by the U.S. veteran who brought this home that says “Nazi banner flown in homes” this is a fantastic example that displays well on either end displayed!
Note – The Nationalsozialistische Kriegsopferversorgung (NSKOV), meaning “National Socialist War Victim’s Care” was a social welfare organization for seriously wounded veterans as well as frontline fighters of World War I. The NSKOV was established in 1934 and was affiliated to the NSDAP.
