Description
A Model 1935 Heer (Army) Officer dagger by Carl Eickhorn of Solingen. The blade on this one looks great. The acid etched “Eickhorn Solingen” maker mark is dark, crisp and beautifully executed. The fine crossgrain looks excellent as you turn it in the sun. The tip comes to a perfect point and the fit is nice and tight. The blade rates near excellent with an old layer of oil covering the blade that could be cleaned up if one wanted to. The original leather buffer pad remains intact, the steel based nickel-silver plated scabbard is gorgeous with wonderful age patina. It provides great detail with the random pebbling throughout and hand enhanced oak leaf and acorn bands. It remains completely dent free and the original throat retaining screw continues to remain intact. The nickel-silver plated 1st pattern Eickhorn crossguard provides crisp detail. The pommel and ferrule are also beautifully detailed with proud oak leaves and acorns. The dark orange trylon grip has no damage and is wrapped with an Officer portepee knot. It shows age patina to the crevasses and has never been in a collection before.
