Description
The blade on this one looks good. The entire acid etched “In herzlicher kameradschaft Ernst Rohm” inscription is 99% factory ground. I can only see reminisce of the inscription. When it was ground they also hit a portion of the “E.P.&S. Solingen” mark. The “Alles für Deutschland” motto is still nicely executed. The fit remains nice and tight and the tip comes to a perfect point. The blade overall is very nice. It has age grey/spotting throughout along with s few small hits to the cutting edge. The steel based, brown anodized and period painted scabbard looks great. The scabbard is dent free. The solid nickel scabbard fittings look great. The ball has a bump to it slightly splitting the edge. All four screws continue to remain intact. The scabbard to crossguard fit is near perfect and closes with a snap! The solid nickel crossguards look great! The reverse of the lower crossguard is stamped “No” (Nordeese). The brown grained hardwood grip is in good shape. It has a small chip and crack near the roundel. The solid nickel eagle has excellent detail and is a perfect fit. The SA roundel retains 98% of its enamel and also has a perfect fit! A very solid example of an early SA dagger.
