Description
Amazing example of an early fixed loop U.S M1 combat helmet by McCord, with an early Westinghouse liner in very nice condition. Both helmet and liner have been period painted with Lt. Colonel rank to the front. The helmet still retains its original OD-3 straps with raised bar brass buckle and milled J hook. Having a heat stamp of 234C , this would date this lid’s production to around the summer of 1942. The early liner features unpainted steel A washers and is complete including its original flat green buckle leather chinstrap. There is also an officer ASN stenciled inside as shown in the pics. Very nice condition early officer’s set that just doesn’t pop up on the open market!
