Description
This is a very good condition early Heer (Army) “slant grip Officer’s dagger, produced by the rare Solingen-based firm Artur Schüttelhöfer & Co, complete with its original scabbard, hangers, and portepee knot. No dents or flaws, chips or repairs, this set is complete and displays well. The dark orange grip is seldom seen by this maker. The blade comes to a needle tip, there is a great amount of original cross grain remaining. The reverse of the blade shows the very attractive makers mark by the firm Artur Schüttelhöfer & Co. The hangers are in great overall shape and have amazing detail. This is a fantastic set that looks wonderful together! These early examples are made to the highest quality, add in the uncommon manufacturing company and you really have something special here.
Note – Most of the Artur Schüttelhöfer & Co Army production was later in the period. Rarely does one come across an early production piece by this maker in such a fantastic condition.
