Description
This is pristine example of the 2nd Type of the 8 Year SS Long Service Medal produced, uncleaned and without damage. This award comes with the original long blue ribbon, 8 year ribbon bar, as well as the very uncommon original packet it would have been put in after production. The manufacture of this example was Assmann & Söhne, Lüdenscheid. Very rare, sought after award set here!
Note – The SS long service awards (SS- Dienstauszeichnung) were designed in Munich by Professor Karl Diebitsch. The awards were introduced by Adolf Hitler on the 30th January 1938 and were awarded to SS members of the SS-Verfügungstruppe, SS-Totenkopfverbände and the SS-Junkerschule who served honorably and were on active service.
