Description
Early, black Allgemeine-SS “Old Fighter” (SS Ehrenwinkel für Alte Kämpfer) sleeve chevron. Constructed of a triangular black wool backer, the obverse bearing a silver aluminum wire chevron trimmed with two black machine-embroidered bands, unmarked, measuring 80 mm (w) x 74 mm (h), in extremely fine condition and unissued. Much harder to find than their grey counterparts.
Note -This pattern of chevron was introduced by Adolf Hitler in 1934. Worn on the upper right sleeve, this chevron was originally used to designate SS members who had been members of the NSDAP, Allgemeine-SS or other Party organizations prior to 1933.
