Description
Great M1937 2nd Model Luftwaffe Dagger (Fliegerdolch) by WMW (Max Weyersberg Waffenfabrik) of Solingen. The blade on this one has some lite age spots but still nice cross graining remaining. The stamped “WMW Waffen” remains clear, the blade has a perfect tip and solid fit to the fittings and grip with no signs of being sharpened. The scabbard has no dents or dings and great bluing remaining. The burnished eagle crossguard has nice detail to the eagles head, feathers, wings and top side embossed oak leaves and acorns. The trylon dark orange grip has no cracks or chips, the springy aluminum wire wrap remains tightly intact, there is also the addition of the Officer portepee knot around the grip. Great example of one of the earlier examples of the 2nd pattern Luft daggers produced by WMW.
