Description

Very nice unissued set of collar tabs worn by an Enlisted Man/NCO in the 22nd Waffen-SS Freiwilligen-Kavallerie-Division ‘Maria Theresa.’ Textbook construction of the embroidered corn flower image with white stitching on a black wool base with buckrum stiffener, the rank tab is constructed in the same fashion. These tabs are unissued and were not worn, condition is mint. Unlike most Dachau tabs, these were actually issued during the war by this Division and worn.

Note – The 22nd SS-Freiwilligen-Kavallerie-Division Maria Theresa was formed May 1944 in the area around Kisber, Hungary, with SS-Kavallerie Regiment 17 (from Florian Geyer) as nucleus. The bulk of the soldiers in the division were Hungarian volksdeutsche (ethnic Germans) originally drafted by the Hungarian Armed Forces who were transferred to the Waffen-SS following an agreement between Germany and Hungary.
