Fantastic example of a sought after (often missing from most collections) Luftwaffe belt buckle as worn by Enlisted Men and Non Commissioned Officer’s. This early “droop tail” buckle has fine details still remaining, the leather tab is 1935 dated. With help from a good friend, I was able to determine the tab is also marked multiple times with regimental markings for a man stationed with Fliegerhorstkommandantur Lieser for the air field command in Lieser, Germany near the Belgian border. The other markings would be the mans air field unit was redesigned as they were expanding and reorganizing the Luftwaffe early on before the start of the war. Though the buckle is not marked itself, we know the manufacture to be F. W. Assmann & Söhne. Overall a fantastic buckle that is nicely marked to one of the original members of the Luftwaffe!
