Description
Stellar example of a very rare WWI 1914 Iron Cross. This cross has a black painted iron core with silver frame, this piece is factory vaulted, the pin is marked “800” for the silver content. The reverse has 2 supporting hooks (one is period missing), excellent quality in a period worn condition. This would have been a very expensive piece to be made during the period. This cross has never been cleaned, and there is no repairs. Though it is unmarked by the manufacture, this cross is attributed to the Godet firm in Berlin. Very, very rare cross!
