This is a pre-war manufactured M-1936 Officer’s field bag. Produced in a bright unfaded Light Shade/Pea Green to Mustard OD#3, depending upon how the light reflects off the tightly woven, waterproof, “Rubberized” 3-ply Fabric. rubberized bags are far more uncommon than standard fabric examples. Well marked under the flap with the contractor’s name, “POWERS & CO., INC.” and pre-war date, “1941” as well as a bold “U.S.” surcharge on the outside. flap. The reverse shows the name and serial number to an Officer. More research could be done to find out the original owner. The bag shows serious field wear, but overall has a great combat worn look. The orginal strap is also still attatched.
