Textbook example of a Waffen-SS ‘Ostturkische’ collar tab. This is a Dachau produced SS volunteer collar tab, for the Ostturkische Verband der SS. This division was formed in October 1944, and was initially comprised of the three Eastern groups: Idel-ural, Turkestan and Krim. In March of 1945, the Aserbeidschan legion was added. This Ostturkische SS Collar Tab was never issued, and is one of the harder collar tabs to find in regards to SS volunteer tabs. The tab is made of silver-white cotton thread, embroidered to fine badge cloth base. On the reverse, you’ll see a very nice buckram backing. The tab is held together with wide white machine stitching, also see on the reverse. Fantastic tab! W
