Description

Great looking, early set of M36 Panzer Schutzen regiment ‘6’ shoulder boards as worn by a Heer (Army) NCO with the rank of Feldwebel (Staff Sergeant). These sewn in type boards are constructed of dark green wool with a grey wool base underneath, and the gothic ‘S’ ciphers and number 2. The edges are piped in rosa pink piping for Panzer units. Theses are clearly period worn and very early, the boards are also piped in early Reichswehr period silver NCO tress. Fantastic, early set of German insignia!

Note – When Germany first introduced Motorized Infantry in the 1930s those regiments that were the Infantry component of the Panzer Divisions, prior to being known as Panzer Grenadiers (from 1942), were termed ‘Schützen Regimenter’ (organized into ‘Schützen Brigaden’)  Overall this set is fantastic, with matching wear and clear signs of being field worn. Truly a rare set to find these days!
