Light worn aluminum Luftwaffe belt buckle as worn by EM/NCO’s in great condition, complete with the original leather tab. Maker marked on the leather tab “Franz Reischauer, Oberstein 1938” the buckle has the LBA acceptance stamp above. The reverse of the leather tab shows the marking of “Brünn” this is the German word for the town of Brno in what is now the Czech Republic. The reverse of the buckle is also marked ‘F.R. 38′. This is a seldom seen maker mark often missing from most collections, the condition is an added bonus!

Note – The Brno Airfield was a pre-war joint civil and military airfield built between 1925 and 1935 before the 1938-39 annexation and occupation of Czechoslovakia by the Germans. Following the German occupation, the airfield was used mainly for training until the last few months for the war when operational units began arriving. This airfield trained some of the top pilots in the German Luftwaffe.
