Fantastic, very early example of a Luftwaffe 1st pattern Officer dagger. The blade marked with the Carl Eickhorn of Solingen squirrel holding a sword. Nickel-silver hilt fittings show dark age patina to the pommel, crossguard and ferrules (upper and lower). The crossguard swastika inserts also show dark age patina. Dark blue leather grip shows light surface wear due to age and is complete with tight twisted, triple wire wrap. Plated blade is excllent showing light surface runner marks with no issues at all. It has no lifting, pitting or nicks to cuttings edges, and is complete with leather blade buffer pad. Blue leather scabbard with metal base is dent-free with no loss of color to leather. Nickel-silver upper, center, and lower scabbard fittings show dark age patina and have their original screws intact. This dagger has the very early chain hanger set up that features 9 upper rings and 14 lower rings, both sets showing light age/wear. The hanger is complete with early unmarked clip. If you are looking for one of the original early examples of the 1st pattern Luftwaffe dagger, you wont find a better one than this on the open market!
