Description

A Model 1935 Heer (Army) Officer dagger by Carl Eickhorn of Solingen. The blade on this one looks great. The acid etched “Eickhorn Solingen” maker mark is dark, crisp and beautifully executed. The fine crossgrain looks excellent as you turn it in the sun. The tip comes to a perfect point and the fit is nice and tight. The blade rates near excellent. The original leather buffer pad remains intact. The steel based nickel-silver plated scabbard is gorgeous with wonderful age patina. It provides great detail with the random pebbling throughout and hand enhanced oak leaf and acorn bands. It remains completely dent free and the original throat retaining screw continues to remain intact. The nickel-silver plated 1st pattern Eickhorn crossguard provides crisp detail. The pommel and ferrule are also beautifully detailed with proud oak leaves and acorns. The dark orange trylon grip one very small nick though it almost appears to be factory done, these early daggers have small defects like this often. It shows age patina to the crevasses. There is also a wonderful original set of deluxe hangers. Completely matching patina throughout, a truly fantastic example.
