Description
Great M1937 2nd Model Luftwaffe Dagger (Fliegerdolch) by (Carl Eickhorn, of Solingen). The blade on this one is near mint with some near perfect cross graining remaining. The etched Eickhorn squirrel logo remains clear and dark, the blade has a perfect tip and solid fit to the fittings and grip with no signs of being sharpened. The scabbard has no dents or dings and great uncleaned patina. The burnished eagle crossguard has nice detail to the eagles head, feathers, wings and top side embossed oak leaves and acorns. The trylon dark orange grip has no cracks or chips, the springy aluminum wire wrap remains tightly intact. Great example of one of the earlier examples of the 2nd pattern Luft daggers produced by Eickhorn, these are far more uncommon to find than their Heer (Army) counterparts by this company.
