Description
Great example of a M1937 2nd Model Luftwaffe dagger by Carl Eickhorn of Solingen. The Eickhorn firm is one of the few manufacturer’s who took the extra process step of plating their blades, as opposed to polishing them. It has a perfect tip and solid fit. The plating looks great as well, giving it a nice mirror like finish! The blade on this one is in Excellent Condition. There is some very faint runner marks and dried oil on the blade that would clean off easily, the cross graining is near perfect! The steel based plated scabbard looks excellent! It depicts awesome details throughout, with the random pebbling, oak leaves and acorns. It remains completely dent free and the two headless retaining screws remain intact.. The burnished aluminum hand enhanced Luftwaffe eagle cross guard has amazing detail to its head, feathers, wings and top side oak leaves and acorns. The dark orange colored grip is tight to the detailed aluminum fittings but has a small chip at the very top near the pommel, overall a fantastic example to a sought after manufacture.
