Description

Early example of a M36 shoulderboard to an enlisted man in a Panzer (Armored)  Schutzen Regiment 1. Consisting of a early dark green base board with rosa pink piping color on the edges as used by Panzer (Armored) units. The board shows the embroidered pink gothic S for Schützen with the number 1 for 1st Regiment, these early embroidered boards related to armored units are very hard to find. Great early piece of insignia!

Notes – When Germany first introduced Motorized Infantry in the 1930s those regiments that were the Infantry component of the Panzer Divisions, prior to being known as Panzer Grenadiers (from 1942), were termed ‘Schützen Regimenter’ (organized into ‘Schützen Brigaden’)  Overall this single strap is fantastic, with matching wear and clear signs of being field worn. Truly a rare board to find these days!
