Incredibly rare early set of Heer (Army) M36 shoulderboards as worn by an Enlisted Man in the Panzer Kradschützen Regiment 2. Early dark green constructed shoulderboards with the embroidered gothic K for “Kradschützen” and the embroidered number 2 for 2nd Regiment. Piped in rosa pink on the edge boarder as well as the embroidered letters, this indicates service in a Panzer Division. Clear signs of being worn and removed from a uniform, these straps would have been worn by one of the earliest of Kradschützen soldiers. When it comes to early German insignia, the embroidered shoulderboards are always sought after, ones related to early armored divisions are very rare!
Notes – The Wehrmacht developed Kradschützen as a rapid mobile assault and reconnaissance force from 1936 and were used extensively during the early stages of the Second World War as part of the German Blitzkrieg successes, and Operation Barbarossa. The development of Kampfgruppen, Panzer Grenadier regiments, and armored halftracks meant that large formations of lightly armed Kradschutzen motorcycle troops became obsolete with the soldiers being transferred to other services such as Panzer Grenadier regiments and Kampfgruppen.
