Description
The SS long service awards (SS- Dienstauszeichnung) were designed in Munich by Professor Karl Diebitsch. The awards were introduced by Adolf Hitler on the 30th January 1938 and were awarded to SS members of the SS-Verfügungstruppe, SS-Totenkopfverbände and the SS-Junkerschule who served honorably and were on active service.
This is pristine example of the 2nd Type of the 8 Year SS Long Service Medal produced, uncleaned and without damage. This award comes with the original long blue ribbon as well as the very uncommon original packet it would have been put in after production. The manufacture of this example was Assmann & Söhne, Lüdenscheid. Very rare, sought after award here!
