Description
The need for mobile armor to support the infantry brought about the development of the “Sturmgeschutz” (StuG) assault gun, which was an artillery-carrying, tracked and armored vehicle built on a tank chassis. Like Panzer crewmen, StuG soldiers wore a field grey wrap-around short jacket “wrapper” with red piping to designate their attachment to the Heer (Army) artillery, army ranking collar tabs and shoulder boards. This was accompanied by matching wool slacks, gray collared shirt and black boots. This set is consisting of the grey shoulder-boards with red piping, silver NCO tress and one pip indicating the rank of Feldwebel (Staff Sergeant), the collar tabs are also piped in the same red piping and show great matching patina, the M40 breast eagle is also included. This would be an amazing set to simply display in a case, or would be a perfect candidate for a uniform restoration, sets like this are never easy to find when one is looking for them!
